SINGASPORTS.COM BIDS GOODBYE

Note from the Editor:

Dear SingaSports readers, fans and friends,

It has been a good 3 years and 5 months since we first started SingaSports.com. The team has grown from a three man operation to having a group of 5 writers then whom were passionate about sharing their sporting views for the masses. Yes, we have been very lean in our team and at times we wrote unorthodox sports news coverage because we are not your Straits Times (and not planning to be too).

Our aim back then was pretty simple - to bring some flavour to our local Singaporean and regional readers, with updates, news and reviews on all things sporty in Singapore. We covered running events, fitness events, sports events, sports tech and gear reviews and are truly grateful to everyone/brands who have approached us for these coverages. The team started out during our university days and have since produced 300+ articles over the course of our run. Coincidentally, our first article was created on 19th June 2016 (exactly 1249 days ago) and we just pressed on from there with having little or no money to fund the site.

Making new friends, connections and exploring events were great experiences which we could not have imagined and be thankful enough as it shaped our lives and path in this sporting journey. We have seen our friends/writers winning regional medals, being in the news and even pursuing their favourite sports further. The opportunity to work with great individuals from across industries certainly helped us grow as a unit back then, and helped keep the site running.

We were seriously just burning money. #SelfFunded #SelfMade

Besides just having an online presence, we were trying to be active in organising school sports activities and team building games, albeit pretty new in the scene. We were the first few to explore the ridiculously fun yet operationally taxing Bubble Football in Singapore, and after a good run, we had it decommissioned. The sweat, tears and manpower needed to execute it were just a little too taxing and not commercially viable. We did not give up, we simply too a different course of action.

As we bid farewell to this online platform, we usher in new beginnings with our new regional site - Sports In Asia, where we still do what we do best and share with our fellow readers (and new ones too) sporting and fitness updates from around the region. We welcome partnerships and collaboration from all sorts and seek your support in helping make Sports Great Again (for the masses). Nope, we are not shunning Pentaque or Rowing nor do we feel obliged to cover football news only.

One can expect new features and coverages from the new site, but hey, give us time to work on them yeah! #SelfFunded But if you are keen on contributing to the cause and the industry or want to be part of our growth (as an investor), do write in to us at TheTeam[at]SingaSports.com.

We hope with this new site, you'll once again get to Experience Sports. Experience More.

Anyways, we'll leave you with some of our best articles (without paid advertisements yo!) #LikeMagic:
